5. Producer from a Temperate Deciduous Forest Biome

An example of a producer in the Deciduous Forest Biome could be the Willow tree, or the "Weeping Willow." The Weeping Willow tree (scientifical name: Salix Babylonica) is a medium sized tree mostly found in dry areas of Deciduous Forest Biomes in northern China. It has adapted to be in parts of Europe, other parts of Asia, and in North America. It has trouble in other places it has been introduced to and isn't native to, because it is extremely sensitive to frost in the winter/cold seasons. It lives for a short time, but grows to a tall height quickly in its lifetime. Insects, such as larvae, eat its leaves to gain energy that the tree has gotten from the sun and/or soil, etc.

What is the scientifical name for the Weeping Willow tree?
